TMSCA & UIL Mathematics & Science

The Math and Science League consistently attends TMSCA meets and UIL invitationals throughout the Houston area, competitions at which 5 tests are offered. We attend around 7 TMSCA meets every year and 2 UIL invitationals before the TMSCA state competition and the UIL District academics competition come around. Placement at UIL District is required to advance, while TMSCA State does not require advancement.
For all categories except computer science, students compete only against people from their grade level, though the tests are the same for all grades and are designed to challenge even the top scorers. At the UIL District Students choose which tests to take. Awards are given to top 5 scorers per test per grade. Trophies are also given to the top school team for each test, the top school team overall, and the top scorers of each of the science's biology, chemistry, and physics sections.

It is very possible to score highly on these tests relative to peers, as the skills required to master each one are predictable from previous tests, of which we have tons to practice.
At our weekly practices, we lecture over topics, learn new concepts, and strengthen our skills for the science, math, number sense, and calculator exams. Though the tests seem difficult at first glance, a little practice goes a long way, and soon you can find success. We promise. So give it a try.
The example tests are available to all. The test bank is accessible only to those with the password and is intended only for members of our school or organization. Email MathScienceLeague@gmail.com for more information.
