Important Information and Upcoming Events:
*Parents please ask your child to show you their Bridges.com account! We have already started working on your student's 4-year High School plan! The high school counselor will be coming to KMS after the parent night to help complete the 4-year plans. You can log in to your child's Bridges Account and view the 4-year course plan in progress by following the below steps. Please feel free to e-mail or call me with any questions you may have!
*Portfolio Name: humble + your student's ID number (no capitals & no spaces)
*Password: ID number
*Click on "Choices Planner"
*Click on the Green Tab "Your Portfolio"
*Click on Your Plans
*Scroll down to the Purple Tab "Grades 9-12"
*You will be able to view the current plan.
*To edit this plan: Click on the "Edit Course Plan" tab above the Purple Tab "Grades 9-12"
*In each course area there will be a blue edit tab that you can click if you wish to make a change.
***You will be able to make changes until the end of February. I will then lock the course plans so I can approve each students 4-year plan. Any changes made after this date will have to go through the high school counselor.***
*Your student will also receive a course card so that he/she can choose some alternate electives. Bridges does not allow students to be able to select alternates. Teachers will also be recommending if your student should take on-level or Pre-AP classes for next year. The district recommends that students do not take more than 2 Pre-AP classes a year.
*January 15th, 2013 KPHS is having a Parent Information Night for parents of 8th Graders Transitioning to 9th Grade at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the KPHS Fine Arts Center.
*Any student who would like to apply for Quest Early College High School can apply online or get an application from me! Applications are due by Wednesday, January 23, 2013. *Please remind your student to attend tutoring regularly if they are struggling with any concept in any of his or her classes! Students can always make test corrections in tutoring for any test in which they make less than a 70. The grade can be brought up to a 70.
*ALL 8th graders will be taking 4 STAAR tests this year:
Math: Monday, April 1st
Reading: Wednesday, April 3rd
Science: Wednesday, April 24th
History: Thursday, April 25th
